Well, it’s almost 2018. There are only a few days left, and it will then be January 2018. Things have been tough in 2017, and petrol just went up today by over 73 cents, and is now close to R14 per litre, which is just crazy at the moment.

There is a lot of uncertainty in the country at the moment, and people are becoming restless. Everyone is battling at the moment. People are just not spending as much as they used too. Most people just don’t have the money to spend on anything, yet alone, on high-end luxury items.

Well, I have been doing web design for over 8 years now. As a web designer, sometimes I think that people just think that I cut and past pictures all day long. It’s so hard to try to explain web design, to some people. Sometimes I just don’t know where to start.

When I first started web design in 2009, things were much easier. Websites were simple, and mostly hand-coded. Most websites were just simple HTML pages. Then you had the websites that combined HTML and CSS. Some of my first websites were built in Microsoft PowerPoint and FrontPage.

R30 000 For, A Basic 6-10 Page Website

Today, we got a quote from another web design, or marketing agency. They wanted to charge us R30 000 for a, 6-10 page website. It included things like, the design of the website, some stock photos and about, 10 hours of copywriting, and SEO.

I have to say, at first I was shocked. This would be about 3 times the price that I would have charged a customer, for a website of this size. I remember building websites like this for R1000, on my own, in 2008. But yet again, I guess you have to look at the difference. This would be from a company, and hopefully a group of talented specialists.
